Vintage Metal Serving Trays Featuring US States circa 1960s-1970s - Sold Individually

{HISTORY}

Just in time for summer fun, a batch of vintage travel souvenir trays is here!

As more and more people began traveling around the country during the mid-20th century, a rise in collectible travel souvenir items became popular. One of the most fun and useful collectibles were these metal souvenir trays made from the 1960s-1970s made for each and every state in the U.S.

Appealing to jet-setters and road-trippers alike, they served as not only a nostalgic keepsake of a wonderful trip enjoyed, but also a useful piece of kitchenware that was ready to serve up a delicious treat and a tale of an adventure or two.

Each tray contained an outline of the state depicting popular cities, local attractions and a colorful snippet of local flora or fauna. With such dramatic graphic appeal that also offered a cohesive color scheme, they made attractive wall decor when grouped together and provided a fun source of conversation while also being helpful servers in the kitchen.

This batch contains the following states: Louisiana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Wisconsin and Oregon. Since all souvenir collecting is highly personal, each tray is sold separately ready to embark on new series of adventures with you.

{SPECIAL FEATURES}

- Clear, crisp graphics

- Great condition

- Fun collectible

{CONDITION}

All trays are in lovely, clean, dent-free vintage condition. The graphics are clear and crisp on the front of each tray.  As expected due to age, there is some minimal scratch marks on the back of each tray caused by light wear. Nebraska, New Mexico and Wisconsin both contain original mounting stickers on back. Nebraska also contains its original $1.98 price sticker on back. Oregon contains one small spot of rust on the back (about the size of a quarter) near the bottom rim and signs of oxidation.  Please see photos.

{SIZE}

Each tray measures 11" inches (diameter) and weighs 7 oz.

{STYLE IDEA}

A lovely decor piece for cabins, cottages, campers, or any other travel-themed space, there is not a place in your home where this tray would not be appropriate from the entry hall to the back patio. Your favorite state can always find its perfect home in your home. Of course, we favor kitchen spaces around here, so we recommend hanging it above your bar cart, on your kitchen or dining room wall, or using it as a permanent display piece on your coffee table, counter or shelf. It also makes a great outdoor drink tray for cocktails in the garden, aperitifs by the pool or happy hour on the balcony.
